Give it a try は直訳すると「そのことに試みを与えなさい」そのことについて、まだ話題に挙がってる事をやったことがない相手や、何かを躊躇している相手に「やってみなよ」とか「とりあえず試してみれば」というニュアンスで使われる定番のフレーズです。また、 I’ll give it a try.「やってみよう」 I should give it a try.「やってみようかな」 のように自分自身に使うこともあります。同じ意味で Let’s try もよく使いますが、give it は「とりあえず」というニュアンスになるので、より気楽な感じに相手に「やってみたらいいんじゃない」という感じの言い回しになります。Try it だけになるともっと簡易的な感じで、例えば試食コーナーなどで「どうぞ（試して下さい）」的なニュアンスになります。
