ひとまず感謝をする。相手が何かをしてくれたとき、結果的にそれが自分の助けにはならなくても、相手の行為には御礼を述べるべきです。anywayは「とにかく／いずれにしても」という意味の副詞です。Thank you for anyway よりもカジュアルな言い方になります。

道を尋ねた相手が Sorry, but I’m not familiar with this area「ごめんなさい、この辺に詳しくないんです」と言った時に、Well, thanks anyway 「そうですか、とにかくありがとうございます」と即レスできると相手に感謝を伝えられます。

slightly：少し／わずかに／ほんのり

leave it up to ～：～に任せる

 ⏩ ここで使われている leaveには「去る／出発する」ではなく「～を残しておく／置いたままにしておく」という意味もあります。そこから転じて「～に（それ）残しておく／置いたままに＝ 〜を任せる／〜をゆだねる」となります。つまり it を～にまかせるということなので、leave it up to meで「私に（それを）任せて」となります。up を付けずに leave it to me でも同じ意味になります。
